"Carl came to us for ten days to look after the farm whilst we had a family holiday. This was our first proper holiday for several years and arranging reliable, competent cover for the farm was vital. Our experience with Mornios Contract Herdcare was first rate from start to finish. Communications were efficient and prompt and expectations were met fully at every stage. Carl is extremely competent and we had full confidence in his ability to look after our farm whilst we were away. This enabled us to relax and enjoy our precious time away without worrying about the farm. We are looking forward to the next holiday! and would have no hesitation in fully recommending Carl and Mornios Contract Herdcare.".
Nick and Jenny Shaylor - Worcestershire
"We had Natalie look after our farm for a week earlier this year and she was brilliant. Leaving the farm is normally quite a daunting experience but we felt really confident about having Natalie in charge. We only had one call and that was on the last day, as any problems were dealt with by Natalie, which meant you were fully able to relax and unwind. I’d thoroughly recommend Mornios Herd Care if you’d like that much needed stress free time away from the farm. We’d happily use them again for our next holiday.".
Emily Bristol - Staffordshire
"Just a quick message to thank Natalie for covering our farm during my recent wedding. From first contact through to completion of cover, we can not fault a thing. Natalie was professional, highly skilled and easy to work with. She left us in no doubt the farm would be in very safe hands, which was a big weight of our shoulders. ".
Caryl Jenkins - Carmarthen
"Natalie arrived like a breath of fresh air to provide 2 months holiday cover for our Head Herdsman, her attention to cow welfare was faultless, always ready to go the extra mile, calm in a crisis, ensured we didn't ever run out of meds or chemicals and was liked and respected by the other staff. The dairy ran like clockwork so we have booked her for several more weeks this year which I think says it all!".
Carol Hosford - DORSET
"I was very happy with the service we received for two weeks allowing the continued production of my herd with a smooth transition and a no fuss change over. The quality of work was to a high standard with clean and tidy work. I would certainly use them again.".
Matthew Brooke - THORNE, DONCASTER
"I booked Mornios for the first time to cover my absence from the farm for a long awaited family holiday. When we returned a week later, it was like we hadn't been away! Carl copied our exact milking routine so the cows didn't notice any difference. The grazing plan was executed perfectly. Our young stock and menagerie of other animals were all cared for. I would highly recommend using Mornios and am already looking forward to the next time we can do so and have time away from the farm as a family. ".
Andrew Chapman - North Yorkshire
"Briliant service, provided relief cover for our wedding. Very professional set up, another happy customer! We will see you again!".
Tim Corner - BICESTER, OXFORDSHIRE
"We have just used Mornios for the first time so that we can have a holiday together. From the initial induction day it was evident that the farm and herd would be in safe hands. Carl demonstrated an enthusiasm and knowledge of dairying that left us feeling confident that all routine work and non routine 'events' would be reliably and competently dealt with. Carls' record keeping of all that had been done was excellent and his approach to hygeine and biosecurity was very professional. Thanks again Carl, we are looking forward to our next holiday.".
Barbara Bradley - North Yorkshire
"Excellent service! Natalie came to our rescue whilst we were temporarily short staffed, she slotted in immediately and relieved a lot of pressure straight away. Would definitely recommend Mornios Contract Herdcare.".
Nigel Batten - Tenby
"We were extremely happy with Mornios Herdcare’s dedication and attention to detail during a period of relief cover at Yester Mains. Carl’s good relationship with other staff on the farm meant operations ran smoothly. He is a flexible, adaptable worker who can be trusted to work alone, and was resourceful in terms of showing initiative where it was required. He also assisted in the training of two new staff members, showing patience and generosity with the knowledge he has built up in the industry. We would have no hesitation in recommending Carl for relief cover at other farms.".
Spencer McCreery - Yester mains - East Lothian
"Mornios Contract Herdcare has been supplying labour due to staff shortage. I have found both Carl and Natalie to be efficient in their work, enthusiastic and eager to provide an excellent service at all times. I would not hesitate to recommend them.".
Mark Adkins - LEICESTERSHIRE
"We contacted Mornios herdcare about cover on our robot milked dairy farm for a family holiday. Carl came the evening before his start date and we spent a few hours running through our routine with him, we went away in the knowledge that our farm was in safe hands. A few problems occurred that were beyond Carls control but these were dealt with very well and resolved quickly. We have booked Mornios herdcare for two future dates and have no hesitation in recommending them to potential clients.".
Andrew & Joy Wright - Cheshire
"Mornios Contract Herdcare is a company that we here at Applevale/Applebys Farm would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relief milker for any length of time. We found Carl to be reliable, punctual, hardworking and a great asset to the team. He really fitted in well, had a positive work ethic and got straight on with the job in hand. In fact we have already booked in Mornios for a week next year and will definatley be regular customers of theirs in the future. ".
Tom Appleby Applevale - Worcestershire
"After years of struggling to find holiday cover for my husband and I, I fell upon a flyer for Mornios Contract Herdcare in a dairying magazine last December. On contacting Carl we arranged 10 days of cover and booked a holiday for August. On arrival Carl had a day and a half with us to get familiar with the routine, we immediately sensed his wealth of knowledge and experience with cows and the management involved. We left the farm without worry and full of confidence in him. On our return we were very pleased, our high standards had been maintained throughout. Carl had some difficult decisions to make with regards to treatments and grazing conditions, the weather was so bad he housed the milkers on the 11th August which maintained yields and the cows looked great. Carl was not fazed by the Keenan Pace feeding system which has been a stumbling block for many others and worked extremely well with our staff sharing his knowledge. Carl stayed alone in our farm house leaving it spotlessly clean and looked after my 3 cats too. I would not hesitate to recommend Mornios Contract Herdcare.".
Debra Butterworth - Lancashire
"Natalie joined us during the early stages of our autumn calving block in September 2020, following the loss of one of our herdsmen at a crucial time in our dairy calendar. This was compounded by the fact that our parlour refurbishment, postponed by implications of Covid-19, was due to commence very shortly – meaning we would be milking through a temporary bail parlour. During the eleven week period that Natalie was with us, she provided a first rate service throughout. In spite of the challenging circumstances, Natalie offered a responsible, calming and competent reassurance to our day-to-day operations, and demonstrated an extremely high level of technical knowledge and understanding, complimented by very high standards of animal welfare at all times. Natalie is an effective communicator, both with our existing farm team, external stakeholders such as parlour engineers and veterinarians, and our students – many of whom gained invaluable experience and knowledge from Natalie. Natalie is a patient and willing individual, who went above and beyond the call of duty to assist us in our hour of need, and her work ethic must be applauded. ".
Andrew Eastabrook -Hartpury College - Gloucestershire
" “Both Carl and Natalie provided cover during the absence of our dairy herd foreman in the Autumn. They carried out their work diligently and with care. I would not hesitate to recommend their services to anyone needing cover on their dairy farm.".
Joe Dugdale - Crathorne Farms - North Yorkshire
"Mornios Contract Herdcare came to our rescue after I was taken into hospital suddenly. Carl Martins came at extremely short notice and had to adapt with very little guidance to an unfamiliar milking robot and a herd managed organically. In the end we had to have cover for nearly 10 weeks while I recovered, and between Carl and Natalie everything was managed to a very high standard, at what is often the most difficult time of the year. I would be happy to recommend their services to anyone".
Michael Stacey - Worcestershire
"From the moment Mornios herd care came on farm, it was great from start to finish, both Carl and Natalie are extremely experienced, and deliver work to the Highest of standards, I would use them again without hesitation, and happily recommend them to fellow farmers. It’s nice to be able to go on holiday and know that my farm is in good hands.".
David Brereton - Wrexham
"When we found ourselves without our herdsman due to a sudden accident, I needed someone who would "minimise the stress and disruption caused by labour orientated issues" This is what it said on a flier supplied by Mornios Contract Herdcare. I could say that is exactly what we got, but in fact the service was far more than that and exceeded my expectations, not only in terms of the highest standards of work carried out but also the ability to work as a key member of the team practically immediately. What could have been a very difficult period thankfully ended up carrying on pretty well as if nothing had happened.".
David Watson - Cockle Park Farm - Northumberland
"Natalie of Mornios Contract Herdcare, provided the farm with a very professional service during a highly stressful harvest time. Her ability to carry out any job at any time and quickly fit into the farm system eased the pressure. I have no hesitation in giving her full responsibility for all the livestock on the farm.".
Jill Bathgate - MID LOTHIAN
" I run a one man outfit and have used different Reliefs over the years to allow time away for family holidays. Not only must the relief be technically proficient & confident, but as they will work without any supervision, the need for attributes like self discipline, honesty and integrity are magnified. Having had experiences with others, which range from “very good” to “wish I hadn’t gone away”. I am more than happy to recommend Carl as an exceptional relief. He will always work to the best of his ability, which is high.".
Simon Taylor - Leicestershire
"We would certainly recommend Mornios Contract Herdcare. Carl was brilliant whilst we had our first holiday in over two years! We were so relaxed we didn't want to come home! Finding the right cover is critical if you are to relax whilst away. Ringing Carl after our staff cover fell through was a wise move!".
Robert Darlington - SHROPSHIRE
" Natalie joined us initially for 5 weeks in April, 2 weeks after we moved into our new parlour, and has been here on and off ever since whilst we finish building, get the cows settled in, our staffing sorted out and holidays arranged. I have been delighted with the service, Natalie has been instrumental in getting us back on track after a year of continuous building work expanding from 180 to 500 cows. It has been hard work, she has risen to the challenge, and will be welcome here any time".
Matthew Ingram - Cawley Farms - Shropshire
